People Matter
Our Community success is the collective efforts of many great people. We have some of the most hard-working and good-hearted people we know. Our “People Matter” section was created to share with you these neighbors’ stories.
You will read about volunteering, good business practicing, coaching, educating our youth, and many other areas of community dedication by the people we spotlight. We would like to hear from all of you anyone you believe makes a difference as well.
Will is a Lancaster native and graduated from Buford High School. After graduating from Georgetown, Edgewater Golf Course was looking for an assistant golf pro and Will was offered the job. Like many public amenities during the current pandemic, Edgewater has made many changes to ensure the safety and comfort of their players.
Amy Pacana began her career with UPS, working part-time, 25 years ago. Since the beginning of April, Amy says there has been many changes in the way UPS now handles their day-to-day deliveries. The biggest change is the volume in customers that are now shopping online for the first time for all of their essential needs.
Matthew is originally from Rocky Mountain, NC. He moved to Lancaster in 2010 and graduated from Buford High School. In 2014, Matthew and his wife were involved in a horrific car accident that took a year to recovery from. Matthew said this is when he first discovered he wanted to be doing more to help people as EMS had helped him and his wife during such a difficult time in their lives.
