Justice4Kids began as a non-profit organization in South Carolina to donate monetarily to buy food for backpacks to give to students likely to go hungry when school is dismissed for the weekend. We were inspired to become involved by teachers who recognized the signs and wanted to do something to address the problem. The end result is these kids have food to eat when school is not in session over the weekend. In addition, these students will return to school on Monday better able to learn which provides a better learning environment for all students. In addition to the backpack project, Justice4Kids helps coaches by providing financial assistance for children who may need uniforms, socks, gloves, shoes, or other athletic equipment. These coaches, who work with these kids on a daily basis are in the best position to identify these needs. This helps all kids be able to participate and learn valuable team building and life skills.
