Our “People Matter” section was created to share with you these neighbors’ stories. Brandy grew up in Lancaster. She attended USC-Lancaster where she was able to turn her passion for helping people and vibrant personality into a lifelong career of serving others in the nursing field. She believes we all need to work together to keep the community safe by staying in as much as possible and wearing mask until there is a vaccine or treatment.

People Matter – From Pen to Post in Lancaster County

Marshall grew up in Concord, North Carolina. His story is amazing. Marshall grew up in a foster home for most of his childhood. He was eventually adopted. After graduating high school, Marshall joined the U.S. Navy and served until he was seriously injured. The injury took over a year of recovery. However, Marshall proved once again to be resilient in the face of adversity. Just one year later, he attended college at USC-Greensboro where he met his wife, now of 21 years. Marshall majored in criminal justice and went on to be a juvenile court counsellor working with kids growing up in the same system like him.

People Matter: Fighting Fires Across Lancaster

Chad is from Lancaster and graduated from Lancaster High School. After a few years working for his father, Chad decided he wanted to donate his extra time to serving others and became a volunteer fire fighter for Lancaster County. Now, Chad works as a fire fighter for The South Carolina Forestry Commission.
